A few comments about the dogs we offer for sale:
1. We don't make our living selling bird dogs or puppies, so we aren't under any budgetary pressure to sell everything we make. Every year we have a new batch of puppies to hunt and at the end we sell the ones that can do it, keeping only a few females which will be bred to do it again. Therefore, you can rest assured that the dog you purchase has passed the Ultimate Hunt Test. If a dog can't make it on our string we won't feed it, and we won't sell such dogs for other people to feed.
2. When you buy a finished dog from us you know it has had the legs hunted off of it, and has seen probably over a hundred coveys in a single season. (90 + days in the field every season.) It knows what to do. It costs more money to keep dogs until they are 2 or 3 years of age and have proven themselves in rough ground on wild birds, but that's what it takes for us to provide the serious bird hunter with a serious and ready-to-go bird dog, So that is what we do.
3. Our finished dogs can find birds, will hunt from foot or vehicle, have had many, many birds killed over them, and have been exposed to just about every situation a bird dog could reasonably expect to be exposed to. We know from experience that it's not terribly hard to find a dog that looks great on tame birds in its home training ground. However, when you take these kinds of dogs hunting you are going to have to spend a season just so the dog can learn to hunt and find birds. You can't teach that. That is something they can either do or they can't. Ours can.

Milly
Milly is a four year old powerhouse, in her prime! When you talk about heart I think of this dog. Milly is one of those dogs that can go day in, day out, everyday. She just manages to find the will to find one more covey no matter how tired or beat up she may be. Milly has spent three years on my guide truck hunting 90+ days per season. She has more experience, and covey finds than ten dogs her age. Milly is a small, quick little dog that makes you smile
every time you put her on the ground, she is the definition of "snappy". You will not worry about losing
her; however, she will take in some acreage, and be there when you get there. She really is a once in a lifetime dog.
